Credits and limits
Credits are only for Premium apps and for work run elsewhere. Everything else - your own data, every standard app, starting a run - is free, on Free as on every plan.

At the limit
You are told at 80% and at 100% of the month. On Free, at 100% the steps that use credits wait until the 1st, or until you upgrade; jobs of standard apps keep running. Credits reset on the 1st of every month (UTC).
Free's other limits are hard too: 5 processes, 500 runs a month and 100 a day, at most 50 recipients in a run and 5 on a process's first run. Upgrade on this page moves you to a paid plan, where nothing stops at the limit and 10,000 more credits cost $10.
